The robot smartphone dock that was first spotted over at Kickstarter? Well, the project actually kicked off and Romo is now available for only $149 via Romotive. Essentially, Romo uses a smartphone as its brain and it uses apps to drive the robot from any iOS or Android device. Specs-wise, Romo the robot has 3 auxiliary ports, a USB charging port, and a power switch. When you will purchase the package, it will include the robot, a USB cable, an audio cable, free apps, and a quick start manual. Its developers were able to successfully test Romo using all the iPhone models as well as the iPod Touch 3rd generation. Romo also works well with the Samsung Galaxy family running Android version 2.3 and up, HTC devices running Android version 2.3 and up, and Motorola Droid family running Android version 2.3 and up. To use Romo, simply flip the power switch, strap your smartphone, and plug the audio cable.
