Sachin Tendulkar,The Master Blaster Debuts On Facebook

There was no mention of it when Sachin's account went live (it is being managed by Seven3Rockers, a mobile content management company), but the first official video with the Master Blaster went up today.

In his welcome note he says, "I'll like to welcome you to my facebook family. As a child I always dreamt of playing cricket for India and I chased my dream of winning the World Cup for 22 years. It wouldn't have been possible without your support. I wanna take this opportunity to thank all of you for having prayed for me and wish well for me. I look forward to sharing my experience with you, join me on my facebook so that we both can share this experience and go through this journey together."

The video went up at around 10 this morning, and it's already been shared close to 800 times as of this writing. The perfect page for a Sachin fan "like", it gives you a complete history of all his achievements — from his birth right up to when his swearing into the Rajya Sabha (like you didn't know everything about him already!) Maybe he's using the medium to announce his retirement — or not. Last seen, the page has already garnered around 408,800 likes. Will he surpass Big B's one million mark, just as quickly? We're going to find out soon!
