LG's Nexus 4 at Rs 26,000

Announced last year, the Nexus 4 has finally reached the India shores, officially. The phone features a 4.7" True IPS Plus screen with 1280x768 pixels. Inside is a powerful 1.5 GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, and 2 GB of RAM. The phone runs stock Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) experience, which is widely considered as "pure" by Android fans. Being a Nexus phone, it will be one of the first devices to get the future OS updates. In the camera department, it's equipped with an 8 megapixel autofocus snapper. There's also a 1.3 mp front facing camera for video calls and self-portraits. Other specs include Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, Wi-Fi, NFC, and 2100 mAh battery. More tech specs are given at the end of this review.

In the US this phone sells for USD 350 (approx. Rs 19,000). Because of its affordable pricing, the Nexus 4 has got rave reviews over there. In India though, the phone is priced at Rs 26,000, which is on the higher side considering it’s a year old phone and doesn't offer too many tricks other than a robust hardware. Now what took LG such a long time to get the Nexus 4 here? We wonder if it's a case of the demand for the same dropping in the west with the supply remaining high. In such a scenario, the love for India often resurfaces in the manufacturers' minds. But let's not be overly harsh here as this is the first Nexus device to be officially launched in India. All said and done, if you're a fan of vanilla Android, and look forward to being the first to upgrade to a newer version of the OS as soon as it's released, this is the phone for you.
